Sunday night was an adrenaline booster for all cricket fans as it was the second qualifier of the present IPL season between Delhi Capitals and SunRisers Hyderabad. Delhi Capitals though lost the first qualifier to Mumbai Indians but are all set to face Mumbai again in Finals on 10 November 2020 after defeating Hyderabad by 17 runs.

The match was in the Sheikh Zayed Stadium with DC winning the toss and opting to bat. They shook the scoreboard with an enormous target of 190 runs on a loss of 3 wickets. Both teams tried their best but lady luck eluded Hyderabad and landed in Capitals' court, who finally are an inch away from the trophy.

Marcus Stoinis, the Man of the match stole the winning credits by smashing 38 runs off 27 balls. He bowled amazingly, taking 3 crucial wickets and choking Orange Army to score. He knocked down Kane Williamson on 67 runs off 45 balls and prevented him from being a threat at the right time. Kagiso Rabada uprooted the highest number of wickets i.e., 4. His bowling startled the supporters and won their hearts and applause. Axar Patel took 1 wicket and made his valuable contribution.

 

The batting department was well handled by the players like Shikhar Dhawan who slammed 78 runs off 50 balls hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. Shimron Hetmyer gathered 42 runs off 22 balls and proved his significance. Delhi's Skipper expressed  happiness over the win. He said, "Our hard work paid off in this rollercoaster journey. At the end we all stood like a family. We are tied with a lot of expectations and responsibility to lift the cup and will try our level best to win the next game against Mumbai Indians."
