Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacts with the beneficiaries of Garib Kalyan yojana today in Gujarat. This interaction was to take place at 12:30 pm via video conferencing. The PM will discuss many issues and will also highlight all the benefits of this scheme to raise awareness. Gujarat Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel will also be present there during the conference. Meanwhile, the Government is also making efforts to make the scheme available to more people.
Around 80 crore people in the country will continue to get free ration till November 2021 and under this scheme 5 kg, free food grain is provided to poor families. This scheme was continued due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the country, where India is witnessing a financial crisis which is leading towards hunger and starvation in the country.
