PM and all state CM's to receive vaccines in the second round of vaccination drive
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be vaccinated in the second round of the vaccination drive which was launched last week, said a prominent source today. The vaccines in the second round will also be received by all state Chief Ministers of the country. On January 16 the vaccine drive was launched in the country with all healthcare workers and front line workers fighting the corona virus receiving jabs of the two vaccines in the country- Covishield and Covaxin. Covishield is manufactured by Serum Institute of India and Covaxin is manufactured by Bharat Biotech.
The second phase of the vaccination drive is aimed at all those who are above the age of 50 and people with comorbidities. Vaccination will also be made available to all MP’s and MLA’s above 50 years of age.
PM Modi in his meeting with state Chief Ministers before the beginning of the vaccination drive had mentioned clearly that they should not rush up or hurry up as they would get their chances in the second round. There has been strict warnings by the PM against anyone trying to jump the queue in order to get themselves vaccinated.
