PM Modi calls for “Tika Utsav” in India from April 11- 14

Vaccination drive from 11-17 April


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday talked about the challenging situation that was emerging due to Coronavirus.  Pm Narendra Modi has appealed to all other state and union territories in the video conference to organize “Tika Utsav” as a fair from 11 April to 14. April 11 is the birth anniversary of Jyoti ba Phule and April 14 is the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar. The main focus of this fair is to vaccinate as many eligible people as possible also to target zero vaccine wastage.

PM also interrogates the youth of the country to help people above 45 to get vaccinated. PM Modi also commiserates on 'Test, Track, Treat', Covid-appropriate behavior, and Covid management to contain the pandemic.

The Prime Minister also apprised that people should be not careless after taking the covid vaccine as by experts it was known as due to carelessness of people about the anti-covid rules that have brought the second wave of infections. Also, Pm urged all the Cm to sustain anti covid effort for the next 2-3 weeks to control the spread of the virus.

At the meeting PM highlighted creating micro-containment zones and increasing testing.As many states like Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Chhattisgarh, Punjab has crossed the first wave of the peak which is a serious concern for the country. The PM talked about the importance of wearing a mask and follow all the necessary instructions related to coronavirus.

India on Thursday reported 1.26 lakh coronavirus cases - its highest ever single-day figure.
