5G services are expected to unleash new Economic Opportunities!


New Delhi: On Saturday, 01 October 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services in India. The service is expected to progressively cover the entire country over the next couple of years.

The cumulative economic impact of 5G on India is estimated to reach $450 billion by 2035.

Capable of supporting ultra-high-speed internet, the fifth generation or 5G service is expected to unleash new economic opportunities and societal benefits, serving as a transformational force for Indian society.

The three major telecom operators of the country demonstrated one use case each in front of the Prime Minister to show the potential of 5G technology in India.

5G is the next generation of mobile communication networks, which is supposed to offer much faster speeds and wider use cases than 4G.

It is believed that the rollout of 5G will accelerate the adoption of cloud gaming, AR/VR technology, Internet of Things, etc. 5G also has several enterprise use cases.

The first 5G demo shows how it can be used in education. The technology can be used to conduct virtual classes, where a teacher might not be physically present in the class. The demo is using technology built by Jio.

5G demos will show what the technology is capable of achieving. The first demo shows how Jio's 5G system can be used to help schools in India.
