PM Modi To Chair Meet With CMs To Review Covid Scenario

Meeting to take place via video conferencing!


On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to chair a meeting with the Chief Ministers of all the states to Review the Covid-19 scenario all across the Country. 


The rise in the cases of Covid-19 is creating fear among the people. India is again witnessing the cases at their peak.

 

According to the information, the meeting is scheduled to take place today at 4:30 pm via video conferencing. Information mentions that this is the first time after the previous year, that PM Modi will review the scenario with all Chief ministers of the state.


According to the statement given by Health Ministry media briefing, "Omicron is replacing Delta Variant of Covid-19 as it is highly transmissible. It should be considered as the common cold. Normally, the transmission or expansion of the pandemic would take longer but this time it has been very rapid because of the high transmissibility."


Few states such as Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat are witnessing an incessant rise in the cases of Covid-19.

 

The state government has implemented several guidelines to curb the infection level in the state. Also, the night curfew and weekend curfew have been imposed to minimize the public rush and control the infection in the respective states.


According to the data given by Health Ministry, India reported 1,94,720 new cases of COVID and 442 fatalities. The positivity rate touched 11.05 percent on Wednesday.
