PM will land at the airstrip in a C- 130 Hercules plane
Prime minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the purvanchal expressway today at 1:30 pm. The inauguration will take place in the sultanpur district's Karwal kheri area. As per the information, PM Modi will also witness an airshow by the air force.
Purvanchal expressway was a dream project of Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. According to the statement given by Uttar Pradesh Expressway and industrial development authority (UPEIDA) CEO Avanish, Awasthi said,"The Expressway has been the dream project of the state government Yogi Adityanath. The project was completed in record time despite several restrictions caused by the Covid pandemic " adding more he said this is considered as a big gift of BJP ahead of the 2022 UP assembly elections.
This Expressway is 340Km long which will reduce the travel time between Lucknow to Ghazipur to 3.5 hours from 6 hours. This starts from Chandsarai village in Lucknow to Haideria on National Highway 31 in Ghazipur. (18 km from Bihar border). Contains 7 major bridges, 7 Railway overbridges,114 minor bridges, 271 underpasses. It is a 6 lane wide which can be later expanded to 8 lande. Rupees 22,500 crore is the estimated cost of construction of this project.
As per the information, the inauguration will also see Mirage 20pp and su-30 MKI aircraft make multiple takeoffs and landings at the emergency. Meanwhile, PM Modi will also address public meetings at nearby places.
