PM lays a foundation to reconstruct the Temple at Kedarnath

Prime Minister is all set to unveil the mesmerizing statue of Adi Shankaracharya of the Kedarnath Temple this morning.

The statue is built in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The statue is a tribute to Guru's knowledge and teachings. According to the  history, in the 8th century, Adi Guru Shankaracharya had achieved Moksha at Kedarnath.

Prime Minister Modi in the morning, offered prayers and performed ''Aarti'' at the ancient temple. As per the PMO, the spiritual event will be streamed live at the 12 jyotirlingas, four Shankaracharya mutts, his birthplace and many other famous temples across the country.

After the destructive incident that happened due to the Uttarkhand floods of 2013 near the Mandakini river, a tributary to the Ganga, the temple was aimed to get rebuilt by the central govt at its earliest.

Moreover, PM will lay the foundation stone of reconstruction projects worth over Rs. 300 crores at the Kedarpuri Himalayan temple.

This reconstruction project is known to be the dream of the Prime Minister. He tends to look after the construction at regular intervals personally.

Mr Modi was welcomed by Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (retd), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and many others at the Dehradun Airport this morning.

According to the report of ANI, Bagish Ling, a priest of the Kedarnath temple said, "We will all welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi will reach here in the morning. He will do the Maha Rudra Abhishek and pray for the welfare of the nation. The temple has decorated with flowers."
