PM Narendra Modi's Twitter handle hacked Out by Hackers

Tweet claimed that India has officially bought BTC 500


On Sunday, PM Narendra Modi's Twitter handle was briefly hacked, and a tweet claiming that India has "officially adopted Bitcoin as legal tender" was tweeted from the Account.

 

The account was immediately secured after the matter was told to Twitter; the Prime Minister's Office said

 

The PMO further said "The Twitter handle of PM @narendramodi was very briefly compromised. The information was sent to Twitter and the account was immediately secured. In the period, when the account was compromised, any Tweet shared must be ignored."

 

After PM Modi's personal handle was hacked, hackers claimed that India has officially bought 500 BTC and is distributing them among its residents and has also shared a link, asking people to hurry up.It said that the future has come today.

 

Many twitter users immediately realised that the account seems to have been hacked.

 

This is not the first time that the Twitter handle of the prime minister has been compromised.

 

In September 2020 also, the handle of his personal website was hacked and even that time tweets promoted Bitcoin, seen to be linked to a scam, were posted from @narendramodi_in.

 

In the past, Barack Obama and Bill Gates were targeted to promote Bitcoin.

Bitcoin price in India stood at Rs. 39.65 lakh as of 10am on December 13.

 

India has always taken tough and legal actions on cryptocurrencies.

 

PM Modi has been vocal in highlighting the risks associated with crypto, including at the recent democracy summit hosted by US President Joe Biden, and in his internal meetings with government officials

 

The government expressed their concern that cryptocurrencies is used for luring investors with misleading claims and for funding terror activities and money laundering.

 

Govt. is likely to bring a law to deal with this issue.
