Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate Kanpur metro rail project for which the PM visits Uttar Pradesh today.

According to the information, the inauguration will take place today at 1:30 pm. The PM is also expected to inspect the Metro Rail and take a ride from the IIT Metro station to Geeta Nagar.


Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh election, the Kanpur metro rail project comes ahead of it and marks the key development of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state. Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections, the UP state is witnessing a speedy development in infrastructure and other places.


The Kanpur metro rail is a 32 km long rail-based mass transit system and is still getting constructed. The information states that it costs rupees 11,000 crores and this will be one of the fastest metro projects in the country. Further, it said, two corridors were approved by the govt for the project as per the Detailed project report(DPR) and the first corridor set is to be inaugurated today (Tuesday) is 9km long and stretches between IIT to motijheel.


The Uttar Pradesh government is in the limelight when it comes to development and improvement in facilities and technology. With the arrival of UP elections, many more things are speeding up and taking place in the state.
