PM To Visit Punjab To Lay The Foundation Stone Of Rs. 42,750 Crore Projects

The Projects include the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway


On Wednesday (January 5), Prime minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Ferozepur in Punjab to lay the foundation stone for several Developmental projects. 

 

According to the information the project’s cost rupees 42,750 crores. The official said, around 10,000 security personnel have been deployed in the district ahead of the Prime minister's visit and an anti-drone team has also been deployed in the border district.

 

Further, it said, the projects include Delhi Amritsar expressway; Four laning of Amritsar- Una Section; Mukerian - Talwara New Broad Gauge railway line; PGI satellite center at Ferozepur and two new medical Colleges at Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur.


According to the information given by PMO, it says the expressway is also to connect key economic centers like Ambala Chandigarh, Mohali, Sangrur, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Kapurthala, Kathua, and Samba in states and UTs of Haryana, Chandigarh, Jammu Kashmir, and Punjab.

 

The 698 km long Delhi -Amritsar -Katra expressway will be developed at a total cost of about Rs 39,500 crore. The Greenfield expressway will connect Sikh religious sites at Sultanpur Lodhi, Goinwal Sahib, Khadoor Sahib, Tarn Taran, and the holy Hindu shrine of Vaishno Devi in Katra.

PM will also lay the foundation stone of New medical College and brand-new Gauge railway line with a 27km stretch.


The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER)’s satellite center in Ferozepur which will be built at a budget of ?490.5 crores and include 30 intensive care and high dependency beds.

 

It will also house 10 clinical speciality departments and five other supporting departments, along with minor and major operation theatres.

 


According to the statement given by ANI, it said it will deliver services in 10 specialties encompassing Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, and Psychiatry-Drug De-addiction.
