Five people were arrested...
On 22 March 2023, five people were arrested by the Medipally police for abducting and assaulting two police constables and deterring them from discharging their duties.
As per the press release by the Ranchakonda police commissionerate, the accussed those arrested were identified as Chinthapandu Naveen alias Teenmar Mallana aka Naveen Kumar, who worked as a newsreader in Q news; editor of Q news Bandaru Ravinder; Uppala Nikhil; Sirra Sudhakar, who has been working as an office boy at Q news; and Chintha Sandeep Kumar.
According to the police, on 21 March 2023, three people with lathis at aroung 8 PM approched to two police officers who were on vehicle checking and questioned them. While answering, they forcibly took the officer to the Q News office and started beating them with lathis, by stating that they were loitering near the office.
After the statement, the police registered a complaint (Cr. No. 299/2023) under sections 363, 342, 395, 332, and 307 R/W 34 of the Indian penal code (IPC) and section 7(1) of the criminal amendment act of 1932.
