Prescription Not Mandatory For Precaution Dose

As per the Union Health Ministry, it said that no doctor's certificate would be required for persons aged 60 and above for getting a "precaution dose" of the COVID vaccine.



According to the statement given by Rajesh Bhushan, Union Health Secretary said, nine months or 39 weeks should elapse since the Administration of the second dose to make the beneficiary eligible for the precaution dose. Adding more he said, the government has not issued any direction on the requirement of the doctor's certificate to get a vaccination. He says it's not mandatory to show a prescription or certificate.

 

"The CoWIN will send a notification message reminder to those eligible population for the precaution dose and the dose will be reflected in the digital vaccination certificates. ``



As per the information, the states and UTs have also been advised to share their requirement of vaccine doses through district-wise administration of beneficiaries using the CoWIN portal.



The Covid cases are again spreading their wings, states and UTs are preparing for the unwanted third wave of the deadly virus. Vaccination has been speeded up in respective states. Also, the state government has imposed a night curfew, travel ban and implemented other restrictions in the state to curb the infection level.
