President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Modi greet on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Mathura today evening in view of Krishna Janmashtami.


On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President, Ram Nath Kovind greeted on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami . According to the tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Greetings to you all on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. Jai Shree Krishna."

According to the tweet by Rashtrapati Bhawan, President Ram Nath Kovind said, "Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. This festival is an opportunity to learn about the life story of Lord Krishna and dedicate ourselves to his messages. I wish that this festival brings happiness, health and prosperity to everyone's life." He also said, "May this festival inspire us to assimilate all these eternal values."

Meanwhile, Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated throughout the country every year to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna and many people observe a fast on Janmashtami.

From last year, Krishna Janmashtami has been cancelled in many public places whereas public gatherings, as well as dance and other events on this day, have also been suspended due to a rise in Covid-19 cases and the fear of getting contaminated with the virus.
