Priyanka Gandhi Plans Mega Congress Rally

The rally, planned against inflation under the Narendra Modi government


The Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has planned a mega Delhi rally to protest against fuel price rise, during the first week of December, at the time of the winter session of the parliament. This will be its first big outreach since 2019.

 

The rally will conclude the grand old party's two-week Jana Jagran Abhiyan against inflation under the BJP government.

 

General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met party leaders to plan the execution of the rally.

 

In the meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Sidhu, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda, general secretary KC Venugopal, party leader Sachin Pilot, and many others were present.

 

The Centre has not yet permitted the Congress's request for the Ramleela ground for the rally. If the permission does not come through, the Congress will move towards Dwarka grounds for its massive rally.

 

On Tuesday, Fuel prices remained unchanged for the 19th day. On Diwali eve, the government had slashed excise duty on petrol and diesel to bring rates slightly down from the heights.

 

Despite the reduction in the prices, petrol rates are still above ? 100 per litre mark across the four metros and several cities in the country.
