Prohibitory Orders imposed in Mumbai from 16-31 December

Omicron scare!


In view of the prevailing cases of new Variant Omicron, prohibitory orders under CrPC section 144 have been imposed in Mumbai. The order will commence from December 16 (today onwards) till December 31.



Decisions have been taken due to the rise in cases of omicron and the upcoming festival of Christmas and New Year celebrations. The public rush may create an alarming situation in the state. 



According to the statement given by MDC, the police inspector said to ANI, "will take action if Covid appropriate behavior is not followed by the people."



According to the order, Large gatherings have been banned under the CrPC section 144. Only 50 percent of the capacity at the venue will be allowed to attend any event and organizers of the program should be vaccinated with both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

 

 The order also mentions, "All transport should be used by fully vaccinated people, persons traveling to Maharashtra must carry a negative RT-PCR test up to 72 hours. Further order mentioned, "If the number of people present at such an event exceeds thousand, then the local disaster management authority will have to be informed about the same."

 

The order shall come into force in the areas under the control of the commissioner of police, Mumbai, with immediate effect from December 16, 2021, and will remain in force till 24.00hrs of December 31." said the order.



Several states have imposed a ban for respective places and implemented guidelines in view of the omicron scenario and upcoming public gatherings rush with the arrival of the festive season and New Year.
