Rail Roko Andolan today demanding arrest of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) an umbrella body of farmer’s union has called for a 6-hour rail roko protest nationwide from 10am to 4pm for justice in Lakhimpur kheri violence in Uttar Pradesh. After Ashish Mishra’s arrest people are demanding for immediate dismissal or arrest of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra.As per the sources the protest will only intensify until justice is served and the demands are meet. So far, the protestors have blocked railway tracks in Modinagar and 30 locations affected in Northern Railway zone. Trains blocked in Punjab, Haryana, Amritsar and suspended in Lakhimpur Kheri. RAF deployed at Sonipat Railway Station.

Action to be taken against those who participates in Rail Roko Andolan. 144 CrPC to be imposed in the district and NSA will be imposed if anyone tries to disrupt normalcy states Lucknow police. Regardless, the protest continues for it seems for SKM, Ajay Mishra was an accomplice and as long as the minister is not held accountable justice is not served. The agitation stems from the violence that took place in Lakhimpur Kheri on 3rd October were four out of eight farmers were allegedly mowed down by vehicle carrying BJP workers while others were left injured. Later some of the BJP workers were lynched by the angry farmer. It was claimed Ashish Mishra was one of those BJP workers and was later arrested on 9th October.
