Random Covid-19 Testing starts at Noida, Gurugram borders of people coming from Delhi.


Owing to the spike in Corona cases in the capital,  random testing has started at Noida and Gurugram borders of Delhi. After Noida, people from Delhi to Faridabad and Gurugram in Haryana will also be randomly tested fir the virus, from today.

According to officials, random sampling in the Noida lines will start at the Faridabad-Delhi border from 2pm on Friday. Haryana DG (Health) visited Faridabad on Thursday, after which an order regarding random sampling in Delhi was passed. In Gurugram, a random sample of Covid-19 passengers will be made by the health department at Kherki Daula, Sadar Bazar, shopping malls, bus stops and government offices, officials said.

The decision on random passenger sampling comes after an unprecedented spike in the incident in the Covid-19 cases in Delhi was recorded. In the last 24 hours, ending Friday morning, Delhi recorded 7,500 new cases of coronavirus. Delhi has seen a sudden outbreak in Covid-19 cases since October 28 when the daily rise broke the 5,000-mark for the first time to exceed the 8,000-mark on November 11.

Noida health officials on Wednesday launched a randomized Covid-19 test of people from the national capital at the two main borders of Noida and Delhi.The random test was announced by Regional Magistrate Suhas LY after a meeting with senior officials during several Covid-19 cases in Delhi.Gautam Buddh Nagar Medical Officer Deepak Ohri said teams of health officials are present on the Delhi-Noida-Direct (DND) flyway and Chilla - the two main entry points to Noida from the national capital.

According to an official statement, 165 people were tested on Wednesday, three of whom were diagnosed with the virus.Health workers tested 81 people at the DND border, where one person was found to be infected. The remaining 84 people were tested at the Chilla border, where two people were found to be infected.If anyone is diagnosed with the disease, they are sent back to Delhi. Those who are Noida or Greater Noida residents from Delhi but are positive are contained in the region" the official said
