Amid the gradual rise in Covid-19 cases, Ravi Shastri, who is the head coach of the Indian cricket team, has tested positive for Covid. He has been under isolation as a precautionary measure with his three support staff members. The other three members- bowling coach Bharat Arun, fielding coach R Sridhar and physiotherapist Nitin Patel are in isolation with the Indian head coach.

As per the statement, "They have undergone RT-PCR testing and shall remain in the team hotel and not travel with team India until confirmation from the Medical team."

According to an official release from the cricket board, "The remaining members of the Team India Contingent underwent two Lateral flow tests- one last night and another this morning. The members upon returning negative Covid reports were allowed to proceed for Day 4 of the ongoing fourth Test at The Oval."

Meanwhile, director and choreographer Farah khan also tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago after taking both the doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
