Red Alert in Uttarakhand, IMD predicts very heavy rain.Whereas a complete ban has also been issued on trekking, Mountaineering and camping activities in high altitude areas.


On Monday the Dehradun centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert on Sunday. It also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall on Monday. Also, an orange alert has been issued till 19 October. As per the statement of the Chief Minister's office," India Meteorological Department wrote to the State Government to remain alert and make necessary arrangements. " whereas the administrations of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag have been told to be extra careful as the Char Dham yatra is underway as well as heavy rain alert is also been issued. 

As per PTI,  a majority of educational institutions in Uttarakhand, including schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres will remain closed on Monday. Whereas a complete ban has also been issued on trekking, Mountaineering and camping activities in high altitude areas. Meanwhile,  many near cities are receiving heavy rainfall across the state. The National capital is flooded with water, whereas waterlogging has also been observed in the capital city.
