Rohit Sharma and 4 other Indian players in isolation after possible breach of protocol

5 Indian players have been put in isolation, BCCI and Cricket Australia will investigate the possible breach of protocol.

Indian cricket players Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubham Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini have been placed in isolation as a video of them dining out in Melbourne went viral. The Board of Control for Cricket in India and Cricket Australia said in a statement that they will investigate the matter and there will be a joint probe in order to check if there has been a possible breach of the biosecure protocols.

The players have been separated from the Indian and Australian squad. However, they will train in accordance with the strict protocols that have been put in place to ensure the safety of all players during the pandemic, said Cricket Australia in a press release.

This came in wake of a fan posting pictures and videos of the players eating at a restaurant. The fan, Navaldeep Singh, said in a tweet that he paid the bill of the players and Rishabh Pant even hugged him which was the cause of the confusion. Later, he apologized for the confusion and clarified that Pant did not hug him and followed social distancing norms.
