RR VS MI: Rajasthan Royals crushed Mumbai Indians on the field by 8 wickets

RR defeated MI by 8 wickets

The 45th match of IPL ended up with defeat of Mumbai Indians against Rajasthan Royals. Sunday's Double Bonanza was quite an unexpected and exciting one which gave hard time to the defending champions last evening. Rajasthan Royals played amazing in both batting and fielding departments taking charge of the match and chasing the heart wrenching target in just 18.2 overs. The win was a big one because it was avenged against the top position holders.

The match was live from Sheikh Zayad Stadium, with Mumbai winning the toss and choosing to bat. They shook the scoreboard with an eye popping score of 196 runs on loss of 5 wickets. Rajasthan, on the other hand ruled the boundaries by crossing the bar set so high before 20 overs. Both teams forwarded inarguably the best from their sides, but the efforts were slightly high on Rajasthan's end.

This analysis will be incomplete and incomprehensible without applauding the star of the evening and the man of the match, Ben Stokes. He bewildered Mumbai Indians with his undaunted century. He smashed 107 runs off 60 balls and yet not out. By knocking 14 fours and 3 sixes he squeezed the Mumbai blues with his bat. The night indeed belonged to him. Sanju Samson was astounding yesterday night. He pulled 54 runs off 31 balls claiming the victory in their court. The amazing partnership between the two carved their way out of this game.

The bowling credits lie in the gloves of Jofra Archer and Shreyas Gopal. They emerged as the highest wicket takers, knocking down 2 wickets each. Kartik Tyagi also stumbled 1 wicket making an indispensable contribution. Indians played well too. Hardik Pandya resuscitated the game hitting 60 off 21 balls. Suryakumar Yadav (40 off 26), Ishaan Kishan (37 off 36) and Saurabh Tiwary (34 off 25) were praiseworthy. Royal's Skipper Steve Smith appreciated the team and especially mentioned the worthy contribution of Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson in chasing the target.
