Rs. 75 Coin Launched

To Mark New Parliament's Opening...


New Delhi: On Thursday, Rs. 75 coin to be launched on Sunday to mark the inauguration of the new parliament, the Ministry of Finance said.

 

The commemorative coin will be as a tribute to the country celebrating 75 years of independence and will be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the inauguration of the parliament building.

 

The coin will have the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar, with the words "Satyamev Jayate" written below it on one side. 

 

On the left side, the word "Bharat" will be written in Devanagari script, and the word "India" in English opposite to it.

 

The coin will also have the rupee symbol and the denomination value of 75 in international numerals written below the Lion Capital. 

 

The other side of the coin will show an image of the parliament complex. The words "Sansad Sankul" will be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery and "Parliament Complex" in English on the lower side.

 

The coin will be round in shape with a diameter of 44 millimeters and will have 200 serrations along its edges. 

 

The 35-gram coin will be made from a four-part alloy, which includes 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc.

 

PM Modi will inaugurate the new parliament building on Sunday. 

 

 25 political parties will attend the opening ceremony, and nearly 20 opposition parties have announced the boycott of the event.
