RT-PCR report is mandatory for those arriving from Europe, China, the Middle East in Mumbai

The new guidelines mention that the provision of institutional quarantine for international passengers travelling by air has been abolished.


Mumbai has issued new Covid-19 guidelines making RT-PCR negative report mandatory for the travelers arriving from Europe, China, Middle east.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made the RT-PCR report mandatory for international travelers arriving at Mumbai Airport from September 3. It said, "RT-PCR test mandatory for international passengers arriving at Mumbai Airport from UK, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe in wake of the discovery of a new strain of Covid-19. "

On Tuesday, Maria van Kerkhove, WHO's technical lead for Covid-19 said that the C.1.2 variant has been found in at least six countries. 

Whereas the new guidelines mention that the provision of institutional quarantine for international passengers travelling by air has been abolished.
