Schools Closed In Kerala For Class 1-9

Spike in Covid cases!


Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases. The Covid is leading towards the closure of schools and educational institutions all across the state.


On Friday, During a review meeting for Covid-19, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced the closure of Schools in the Kerala State. The schools will remain closed for the students of classes 1 to 9 in the state. However, the offline classes for students of classes 10 to 12 will continue.

 

This decision came into focus after the state witnessed a spike in the daily Covid tally which led to the closure. The CM also urged the education and the health department to deliver vaccines to students of classes 10,11 and 12 in the state.

 

Also, a few other decisions were taken during the meeting, CM has asked the district collectors to identify covid clusters and issue restrictions in the state. Pregnant women can do work from home during this period. Official events of the Government, private and cooperative sectors should be done on an online basis.


According to the information, it is also decided that if clusters form in educational institutions, the headmaster and principals will be given authority to shut down the school. Further it said, all business establishments should promote online booking and sales.  Malls and the public should be permitted on a per person basis.


The Covid cases are gradually spreading their wings. With the arrival of new Variant omicron, it is creating a concern that has again led to the closure of schools, colleges, educational institutions, and other daily livelihood requirements.
