Section 144 imposed in Pune tourist spots.The assembly of more than five people has been restricted and people are not allowed to venture into water bodies and go under the waterfalls.


Covid-19 cases are declining whereas the public rush is increasing gradually and is creating a fear of getting contaminated with the deadly infection. An incessant rise in tourists has been observed in Manali and other hill stations and tourist destinations. 

Whereas the Pune administration on Friday (16 July) issued an order stating " to avoid any untoward incident and to tame the spread of the virus it is imperative to impose prohibitory orders on section 144 of CrPC and disaster management act in these seven tehsils. The assembly of more than five people has been restricted and people are not allowed to venture into the water bodies and go under the waterfalls, said the order.The order was issued by collector Rajesh Deshmukh and it stated that people come in large numbers to picnic and tourist spots located in maval, Mulshi, Haveli, Ambegaon, Junnar, Bhor and Vehla Tehsils,  leading to mask and social distancing norms violations.

As per the order, the tourist picnic spots which come under the probability orders include Bhushi Dam, various points in Lonavala and Khandala, Sinhgad Fort, Panshet, Varasgaon dam among others.
