Section 144 in Lucknow till January 5

Omicron Fear!


On Tuesday, the Lucknow police invoked section 144CrpC in Lucknow district.  This has been imposed from December 7 till January 5, 2022. This decision came to focus because of the upcoming festivals and celebrations of New year and Christmas to save people from getting infected from the New Variant.

According to the statement, Piyush Mordia, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and order), Lucknow said that "no one without a proper police permission will either take out a procession of five-person or more than that, nor anyone will become a part of it " further said, "No one will do anything which will create communal tension inside the jurisdiction of Lucknow Commissionerate."


With the arrival of the new year and Christmas festival the public. Spaces and market spaces will be full-fledged with celebrations and enjoyment. Also, the New variant is creating concern after India carries 23 new cases of the Covid "omicron". Which has created havoc in traveling, and moving out.


Several states are taking their decision, as the tourist rush increases during the new year time. To curb the spread other states have also implemented their guidelines to minimize the public rush. Travel guidelines have also been issued by the respective states and authorities to curb people from getting infected with the deadly new variant.
