Security tightened outside Gautam Gambhir's house

BJP MLA receives death threats

On Wednesday morning, the Delhi police enhanced the security outside the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) MLA, Gautam Gambir's house. The BJP MLA received an email that allegedly threatened him to kill him and his family.

According to the statement, the police officer confirmed that the security has been tightened outside his residence and an investigation into the alleged death has also been initiated.

In a letter to the deputy commissioner (central) Shweta Chauhan, the MP said he received the threat email from some group called "ISIS Kashmir" which read, "we are going to kill you and your family". He urged the police to register a first information report (FIR) on the matter apart from providing him enhanced security.

"We have received an email from ISIS Kashmir on the official I'd of MP Gautam Gambhir on November 23 at 9:32 P.m " read the complaint filed by Gambhir's PS.

The 40-year-old cricketer turned politician, a staunch Nationalist, has been extremely vocal about the issue of terrorism in Kashmir.
