SII Chief Adar Poonawalla Takes Vaccine Shot

Chief of Serum Institute takes covid vaccine shot.


Adar Poonawalla the CEO of Serum Institute of India (SII) today sent his wishes to Prima Minister Narendra Modi and India on the achievement of the great success as the country today has launched its largest vaccination drive. Mr Poonawalla took to twitter and shared a video of himself where he can be seen taking the Covishield vaccine on himself which has been manufactured by this company SII.

On twitter Adar Poonawalla wrote, “I wish India & Sri @narenrdamodi ji great success in launching the world’s largest COVID vaccination roll-out. It brings me great pride that #COVIDHIELD is a part of this historic effort & to endorse its safety and efficiency, I join our health workers in taking the vaccine myself.”

Eleven million doses of AstraZeneca Covishield vaccine had already been brought by the government of India and it is produced by Serum Institute of India and by February there are plans to provide more doses of the vaccines of around 5-6 crore is underway, said SII. Adar Poonawalla had mentioned earlier that SII is not only looking to provide vaccines in India, “but it is also committed to provide it to other countries that are looking at India at this point.”
