Gujarat speeding vaccination drive with offers
The Rajkot Municipal Corporation has announced a gift to the lucky winner for getting inoculated with the second dose of the Covid vaccine. A Smartphone worth rupees 50,000 will be provided to the lucky winner taking the Covid vaccine from 4th December 2021 to 10th December 2021.
As per the information, Rajkot Municipal corporation commissioner Amit Arora said this announcement has been made by the Rajkot civic body to encourage people to get their vaccination done, "The winner will be decided through a lucky draw and given a smartphone worth rupees 50,000."
The case of Omicron, the New variant, is creating concern. So far India has witnessed around 21 new cases of Omicron. 17 were reported yesterday out of it, nine people are from Rajasthan's Jaipur, seven from Maharashtra's Pune district, and one from Delhi.
Many other states such as Uttar Pradesh state have started speeding up their vaccination drive. The state is vaccinating all the people who have been jabbed or taken the second dose. Many other states are running mega vaccination drives/camps. Other states have also implemented travel guidelines to curb the spread of the New Omicron variant in India and protect it from getting infected.
On Sunday, Gujarat reported 44 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours which took the overall tally to 8, 27,659. As per the state health department, the death toll remained unchanged at 10,094 with no new fatality.
