Sports stars tested positive for Coronavirus around the World

Corona-Virus has hit the sports activities while several starts also tested positive and few have recovered


Cristiano Ronaldo, Juventus F.C and Portugal soccer star was tested positive for corona-virus, according the a statement by the Portugese soccer federation (FPF) on October 13. The statement said that Ronaldo was showing no COVID-19 symptoms and was in isolation, thus missing Nations League match against Sweden on Wednesday. Due to isolation rules, he will also miss Juventus’ upcoming games in Serie A and the Champion League. The FPF said that all other Portugual players underwent new corona-virus tests on Tuesday and all returned negative.

Manpreet Singh, the captain of India’s men’s national hockey team, and four others tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of a national camp in Bengaluru, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) said on Friday. Besides Manpreet, defender Surender Kumar, Jaskaran Singh, Krishan B Pathak and drag flicker Varun were diagnosed positive.



Neymar, Brazillian football star tested positive for COVID-19. He contacted the virus while holidaying in Ibiza, following the 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champion League final in Lisbon. A subsequent test returned negative after he spent 10 days in quarantine. Neymar expressed his happiness to return to training at PSG, tweeting to say“I went back to training, super happy #CORONAOUT,”

Hertha Matteo Guendouzi, has tested positive for corona-virus after returning from international duty with the French under-21 team.The 21-year old remains asymptomatic and will spend tend days in quarantine, meaning he will miss his team’s Budesliga home game against Stuttgart on Saturday and trip to RBI Leipzig a week later.

Shahid Afridi, former Pakistan Cricket team captain tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, Afridi said that he knew he would be at risk of catching the virus as he had been traveling a lot for his charity work. “I knew I would catch COVID-19 as i was traveling a lot for charity work. Thankfully, it happened late or i would not have been able to help a lot of people.” He said. He is the second Pakistan international cricketer after Taufeeq Umar who announced his recovery a few days from the virus.
