Sreesanth is Set to Make Comeback After a gap of 9 years

The Fast Bowler was included in Kerala’s Preliminary Squad

Former Indian pacer Sreesanth is set to make a comeback in domestic cricket as he has been included in Kerala’s preliminary Ranji Trophy squad for the 2021/22 season.

Sreesanth will make a comeback with the red ball after 9 long years; he didn’t play any of the white ball fixtures for Kerala this season.

Speaking via video, the 38-year-old thanked fans for their support and stated that it was great to "be back in the whites again". "Hi! Good afternoon and thank you very much for the love and support. It’s great to be back in the whites again, bowling red ball, that too for my state where it all started", he said.

"I'm excited just like the U19 boy who got the red ball for the first time", he concluded.

Sreesanth’s last performance with the red ball was in the final of the Irani Cup 2013. He was part of Harbhajan Singh led the Rest of the India squad.

The pacer has also served a seven-year suspension for his alleged involvement in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal. His ban ended on September 13, 2020.

Sachin Baby has been named the captain of the Kerela cricket team for the upcoming tournament.

Kerela will begin their campaign on January 13 against Vidarbha, followed by Bengal, Rajasthan, Tripura and Haryana. Kerela will be playing their fixtures in Bengaluru.
