Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Chahar Ruled Out Of Three-Match T20I Series Against Sri Lanka Due To Injuries

Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar have both been ruled out of three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka due to injuries


Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar have been ruled out of the upcoming T-20I series against Sri Lanka. It is going to be a double blow for India as their 2 main players are injured and will not be available to play the first T-20I against Sri Lanka.

"They will now head to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further management of their injuries," stated an official release.

 

After clinching the T20I series against West Indies, Team India will now look to carry their form into the three-match series against Sri Lanka, beginning 24th Feb 2022.

India and Sri Lanka will square off in three T20Is and two Tests, with the first match of the series to be played in Lucknow.

Deepak suffered a right quadriceps injury during bowling, while Suryakumar Yadav suffered a hairline fracture during a fielding attempt in the third and final T-20I against West Indies in Kolkata.

The team management has already rested Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur from the T-20I series. Kohli and Pant will join the team during the Test series, while Shardul has been given a form the entire series against Sri Lanka.

It is said that one man’s suffering is another man’s opportunity hence it will give a chance to the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shreyas Iyer to show what they are capable of.

Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah (vice-captain), Avesh Khan.
