The Centre Asks States And UTs To End Additional Covid-19 Restrictions

India witnesses a reduction in Covid Cases!


On Wednesday, the Central government has asked all the states and union territories to review and amend or end additional Covid-19 restrictions.


The Covid-19 cases in the country are declining. India is witnessing a downfall in its daily cases. Whereas the restrictions led to Covid-19 disease should be ended says the govt to all the states and UT.


According to the statement given by Rajesh Bhushan In a letter to states/UTs, the Union Health Secretary said, “The Covid-19 pandemic in India is showing a sustained declining trend since January 21, 2022.

 

The average daily cases during last week were 50,476 and 27,409 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. The daily case positivity on February 15, has declined to 3.63 percent.


Further, the Health Secretary also said that the government is changing the existing guidelines and aiming to minimise it with the "changing epidemiology of the Covid-19 virus globally."

 

He added, "Presently, as the case trajectory across the nation is showing a sustained downward trend, it will be useful if states/UTs review and amend/do away with the additional restrictions so imposed after considering the trend of new cases, active cases, and positivity within the State/UT." 


Rajesh Bhushan has also asked the states to follow the five-fold strategy of test, track, treat, vaccination, and adherence to Covid-appropriate behavior. 


According to the information, there has been a reduction of 37,322 cases in the active caseload in 24 hours.

 

The active cases have declined to 3,32,918, comprising 0.78 percent of the total infections. The recovery rate crossed the 98 percent mark.
