To New Beginnings- USA elects its first woman Vice President- Kamala Harris.

Kamala Harris  - is the first woman, a person of color and originally from Asia to hold the position of Vice President-elect.
Harris and her political partner, President-elect Joe Biden, look set to stay in the White House, with 290 votes in the Electoral College so far. Georgia, North Carolina and Alaska have yet to announce the winners, but the Democratic have already exceeded the 270 votes needed to win.
U.S. President Donald Trump did not approve of the results and in a statement on Saturday said "Biden is running to pretend to be the winner". Trump's campaign has filed a series of lawsuits challenging the results of the polls across the United States and the President said more will come on Monday."This election is almost more than Joe Biden or me," Harris said on Twitter. “It is about the American soul and our determination to fight for it. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Let's get started. ”
Harris also shared a short video of her phone with Biden after the announcement. "He will be the next president of the United States," She said. Harris, who is a first-class speaker from California, comes from a foreign family. Her mother was Shyamala Gopalan, an Indian who came to the US to work as a biologist and researcher. Her father, Donald Harris, was from Jamaica who came to study at Stanford University, where he earned a PhD in Economics.
That made Harris, who was already the first Black woman in California to serve in the Senate, the first, Black and Indian woman to run for office. Harris' legacy sparked Biden's campaign, which he hoped would help boost enthusiasm for voters of color. His reputation as an active fundraiser was also a factor: Biden's campaign raised about $ 11m in the first four hours after Harris was announced as his partner.

Harris also worked as a senior California prosecutor, giving her time on the court to hone her skills as a tough goat. As the only Black woman to enter the Democratic primaries race, Harris shook Biden during the debate, questioning his record for being separated by a school bus.She has also joined left-wing leader Senator Bernie Sanders in calling for universal health care, or medicare for all. Harris then backtracked on the issue, which is popular in the US, according to various studies. This, coupled with the apparent lack of commitment to strict policies, led to her withdrawal from the Democratic nomination race ahead of the Iowa caucus in February. Biden chose Harris as his partner on August 11. Her name floated for some months.
During the campaign, analysts agreed that Harris had behaved well in a speech with Deputy President Mike Pence and his speeches at public events did not go unnoticed.
But this election is seen by some as a message to the Sanders wing of the party that Biden will target a political institution.
Progressives questioned his position as California's attorney general and his return to global health care. Although Harris described herself as a "progressive prosecutor" in the 2019 memorandum and said it was "an unrealistic choice" to decide between supporting the police and promoting a more thorough investigation, some have denied the allegations.
The director of Criminal Juvenile Justice and Racial Justice Clinical Programs at the University of San Francisco School of Law Lara Bazelon, wrote a New York Times article entitled "Kamala Harris Was Not a 'Progressive Prosecutor".
After being nominated as Biden's partner, Bazelon expressed his concern about Democracy Now, including that "Harris's office fought tooth and nail to maintain illegal beliefs, that it sometimes keeps innocent people in jail".
Nonetheless, Harris faced criticism for her move to a permanent office far from the presidency, and her position as vice president will mark one of the first in her career.
