Tokyo Olympics: Delhi govt announce prize money of Rs 3 crore for gold medal winners from capital

The athletes will be proved with Rs. 3 crores who bag a Gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 announced by Delhi Government


In the Tokyo Olympics, as the 4 athletes have been selected from the capital, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia called out a meeting to discuss improving the quantum of support for the athletes with Karnam Malleshwari. In providing special attention in the boosting process in providing multidimensional support to athletes meanwhile the new building of the Delhi Sports University is a new companion for the athletes in training them for the future. Delhi government has announced to give 3 crores for the athletes who beg for gold would be given 2 crores and those who won silver medal will be provided 1 crore and the bronze one will get 10 lakhs, in addition, the coaches of the athlete will be provided with a medal. The athletes from Delhi are  Deepak Kumar, Manika Batra, Amoj Jacob, and Sarthak Bhambri. The participants will be taking part in different sports like Khel Ratna Awardee Manika Batra will represent India in Table Tennis whereas  Deepak Kumar in the 10m Air Rifle Shooting event. Amoj Jacob will participate in the 4x400m relay and Sarthak Bhambri from Delhi. 

Giving importance to sports,  Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia says, all things are being prepared for the bright future of Olympians and we are doing our best to build up a world-class Sports University. As of now, sports events will be organized in Delhi in promoting sports hub as well the sports university will soon create an active environment for sport in the country as in hosting sports for 2048 Olympic Games he adds. The  Delhi Sports University will be open from the next session onwards for the students of the same abilities and interests as the university will provide the best training in sports.
