Tragedy strikes in Agra, five dead in septic gas tank poisoning

A big accident took place on Tuesday evening in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. In Fatehabad, five youths who landed in a dug near an old septic tank died due to poisonous gas. The dead have three immediate brothers, while one is a cousin and a neighbor. The DM has announced compensation to the kin of the deceased. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has deeply lamented the deaths of five people in the accident. He has directed to provide two lakh financial assistance to the families of the deceased. He wished the bereaved peace, and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.

Three days ago, an eight feet deep pit was dug outside the house of Surendra, a resident of village Pratappura in Fatehabad police station area, for a septic tank of a toilet. At a distance of three feet from this pit is the old septic tank, which is full. Due to the busyness on the farm, it could not be confirmed. Water was seeping from the old tank. To prevent leakage, 13-year-old Avinash landed in the pit, which contained about one feet of water. Avinash fell inside as poisonous gas leaked from the old tank.

15-year-old Aditya landed in the pit to save him, he also fainted. After this, elder brother 17-year-old Harimohan, cousin 30-year-old Sonu Sharma, neighbor 17-year-old Yogesh Baghel came down in turn to save the two brothers. All were caught in the pit after being caught by poisonous gas. There was a scream after the five youths got trapped in the pit. Men working on the fields reached on information. Attempted to bring down a villager, but he began to feel dizzy.

After this, Umashankar, while making sense, put the bucket before the rope in the pit, which broke the gas layer. After this, Sonu Sharma's brother Monu Sharma was tied down in the waist and lowered. He took out the five one by one. All were taken to the hospital. From there, he was sent to Agra. He was declared dead on arrival at SN Medical College.
