Union Health Minister to meet state health ministers today to review Covid-19 vaccination

Review meeting will be held today (Thursday)


On Thursday, the Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya will hold a meeting today with the health ministers of all the states and union territories on taking the "Har Ghar Dastak" to ensure Covid-19 vaccination to all adults who haven't taken their first doses of Covid-19 vaccine or second dose.

As per the sources, the meeting will take place virtually in the morning.


According to the Health Ministry officials, around 79.2 per cent of India's adult population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while more than 37 per cent of the country's around 94 per cent population has been administered with both doses of Covid-19 vaccine. 


India has achieved its target of inoculating 100 crore vaccination doses. After which many more states and union territories are running with other Covid-19 vaccination drives and campaigns, several states have been achieving their targets. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and other states have received the target of inoculation. Also, West Bengal is running a house to house vaccination campaign,  door to door vaccination, Har Ghar Dastak is the initiative started by the respective state. 


Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal,  Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are the top five states who have been administered with the highest number of Covid-19 vaccination doses. The health ministry has also written to several states and UTs asking them to prioritise administering the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
