UP CM Mandates Negative RT-PCR Report For Devotees Visiting For Magh Mela

Fresh Covid-19 guidelines issued by the UP Government


Amid rising in the cases of Covid-19 and the vicious omicron variant. The states and the UTs are implementing Covid-19 guidelines in the respective state. 

 

On Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh government issued new guidelines in view of the rise in cases of Covid-19 and ahead of Magh Mela.

 

The Uttar Pradesh chief minister issued new guidelines and directed that it should be Mandatory for devotees coming to Prayagraj Magh Mela to produce a negative RT -PCR test report, which should not be older than 48 hours. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to take care of the devotees attending the Magh Mela in Prayagraj.


Magh Mela is an annual festival that is held in the month of Magha (Hindu calendar) near river banks and Hindu temple. The devotees take a dip at Sangam, the confluence of Yamuna, Ganga, and mythological Saraswati on the occasion of Paudh Purnima.

 

As per the information, during the entire month, pilgrims stay on the banks of Sangam in tents and take showers in the early morning and participate in religious activities.


The cases of omicron on the other side are spreading its wings, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath alerted the population and urged them to use appropriate behavior for Covid-19.

 

He said, "alertness and caution are needed. People should be encouraged to wear masks, take vaccines and practice social distance. This is the best first aid measure." 


As per the data, on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh recorded 992 cases of COVID. The active cases in the state have been increased to 3,173 in the state.

 

Ghaziabad reported 174 cases,165 in Gautam Buddh Nagar and 150 in Lucknow, and 102 in Meerut. The death toll touched to 22,916 with no fatality in the last 24 hours.
