Spike in Cases


The Uttar Pradesh state has been declared as the Covid-19 affected state after witnessing a surge in the cases of Covid-19.

 

According to the statement given by the additional chief secretary (Health), Amit Mohan Prasad said the decision has been taken after assessing the Covid situation. In order, he said under section 3 of the Uttar Pradesh public health and epidemic Control act, 2020, the entire state has been declared Covid affected.

 

According to the information, the announcement will be in effect till March 31, 2022, or till further orders.  The Uttar Pradesh state has already imposed a night curfew related to Covid-19. The night curfew has already been taking place in the state since December 25. Timings are from 11 pm till 5 am.

 

Also, a guideline has been issued with the night curfew; it mentions that not more than 200 people are allowed to gather in a wedding ceremony and Covid-19 related protocols must be followed at all-time events.

 

Uttar Pradesh is also running its assembly elections. Allahabad also requested the Election commission and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend the polls amid rising cases of the Covid-19. According to the data given by the health ministry, Uttar Pradesh reported two cases of Omicron in the state.

 

Several other states have imposed lockdown like restrictions in their states, National capital Delhi issued a yellow alert throughout the city with 50 percent seating capacity in the metro to shut down gyms, colleges, schools, and other educational institutions to curb the infection level in the city.
