UP's Jhansi station renamed "Veerangana Laxmibai Railway station"

UP CM Yogi made this announcement

The Uttar Pradesh government renamed the Jhansi railway station to Veerangana Laxmibai Railway station. The name of the station comes after the Queen of Jhansi- Rani Laxmibai. She was one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and became a symbol of resistance to the British Raj for Indian nationalists.

According to the information, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made the announcement on Wednesday and wrote about it in Hindi. He said, "The Jhansi railway station will now be known as veerangana Laxmibai Railway station”

Earlier, the Mughalsarai railway station was renamed Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya junction and the Faizabad railway station as Ayodhya Cantt.

A notification to this effect has been issued by the UP government and the railways have started preparations to implement the change, Chief PRO of North Central railway, Prayagraj, Shivam Sharma said. The notification also stated the station's name was changed following a "No- objection" given by the Ministry of home affairs in a letter dated November 24, 2021.

Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections, many changes are being done, many improvisations are taking place across the state from development to new names and new paths. The Uttar Pradesh government has speeded its work for public benefits and is gearing up to provide good facilities to the Uttar Pradesh population.
