Uttar Pradesh hits milestone of 10 crores Covid-19 vaccination of first doses

Many more states are achieving their inoculation targets


On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh state hit administering a milestone of 10 crore vaccination.

As per the statement,  the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had already issued an order to speed up the vaccination drive in the state with a target of delivering 25 to 30 lakh doses per day for two months.


The Uttar Pradesh state has now implemented "cluster model 2.0" to improve second dose coverage in the state. To prioritise full vaccination,  the second dose is being administered under the cluster model 2.0 in villages and localities where the first doses were successfully administered using the same model. Covid-19 cases were horrific during the peak. The state of Uttar Pradesh witnessed an oxygen crisis at the peak time of Covid-19.


As per the report, 68 per cent of the state population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine with  24 per cent fully immunised. Many more states and Union territories are running with their vaccination drive and speeding up to achieve their inoculation targets.


Meanwhile, the state has been administered with more than 13,53,77,271 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, including 10,00,02,539 are the first doses and 3,53,74,732 are the double doses.
