Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat airlifted to AIIMS, Delhi.


The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Trivendra Singh Rawat has been shifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi today. He tested positive for COVID-19 on December 18 and isolated himself at home since then. He developed mild fever following which he was admitted to Doon Hospital on Sunday. As per Rawat's physician, Dr N S Bisht, an infection has been detected in his chest. Although nodal officer for COVID-19 at Doon Hospital, Dr Anurag Aggarwal, clarified on Sunday that there is no need to worry and his condition is being continuously monitored. 

Without further ado, Rawat was shifted by a helicopter to AIIMS, Delhi. Earlier this year, Rawat had isolated himself several times at home following the report of his colleagues testing positive for the novel coronavirus. Even his wife and daughter had tested positive for COVID-19. "Today I had my corona test done and the report came back positive. My health is fine and I do not have any symptoms. Therefore, on the advice of doctors, I will be in home isolation. I request everyone, whoever has come in contact with me in the last few days, please isolate yourself and get yourself checked", Rawat tweeted on December 18. 

As for the present situation of COVID-19 in Uttarakhand, 89,645 positive cases have been reported so far out of which 82,537 have recovered whilst more than 1400 fatalities have been reported. The capital of Uttarakhand, Dehradun has reported 26,806 that is the maximum number of cases in the state so far.
