Uttarakhand Govt. Extends Covid-19 Restrictions

Restrictions extended till January 31


The Uttarakhand government has extended Covid-19 Restrictions in the state ahead of the surge in cases of COVID. The cases are increasing in the state ahead of elections 2022.


As per the official notification, it said, the Restrictions in the state have been extended till January 31st, and all government, all Anganwadi centers, and educational institutions up to 12th classes will remain closed in the state.

 

The classes will work via online mode.  The Uttarakhand government statement read, "In a letter dated Jan 22, Uttarakhand government extended Covid restrictions in the state till January 31. All Anganwadi centers and educational institutions up to 12th standard will remain closed, online classes to continue,” said the statement.


According to an order, Gymnasiums, shopping malls, cinema halls, spas, salons, theatres, auditoriums, etc can open with 50% of their capacity in adherence with Covid-19 protocol." Restaurants, hotels, dhabas, and other eateries can allow dine-in services with 50% capacity, and takeaways and home delivery will continue.

 

Only 50 people will be allowed to take part in marriages and funerals. Further added, all swimming pools and water parks in Uttarakhand will remain closed till January 31. However, stadiums, playgrounds, and other such establishments can remain open with 50% capacity, said the order.


The poll-bound state is taking all measures to curb the infection level ahead of elections. The state has banned large gatherings and political rallies till January 31.


Uttarakhand has recorded 400,401 cases including 31,310 active cases, 361,611 recoveries, and 7,480 deaths.

 

Nearly 376,000 children between the ages of 15-18 have been inoculated and the precautionary dose has been administered to 142,380 beneficiaries which include health and frontline workers, people with comorbidities (suffering from many diseases), and those above the age of 60.
