Vaccinated People Allowed To Enter Goa Without Negative Covid-19 Report

Children over two years of age are required to submit an RT-PCR test report.

On Monday, the Goa government filed an application with the High Court for fully vaccinated individuals to enter the state without presenting a negative Covid certificate, as long as they are fully vaccinated.

The National High Court initially granted the application in part in mid-July and allowed fully vaccinated persons to enter the country without a negative certificate, but this exception was not extended to tourists who had to submit a negative certificate even if they were fully vaccinated.

Monday's order paves way for the state to extend the exemption to include tourists.

"The Supreme Court has granted the state government's request that people who are fully vaccinated after 14 days of their second dose can enter Goa without a negative RT PCR test or rapid antigen test," said attorney Nikhil Pai, who heads the South represented the Goa Defenders Association, the original petitioners said.

Children over two years of age are required to submit an RT-PCR test report. Children under two years of age should bring an RT-PCR report if they show symptoms, while a test report is not required if they are asymptomatic. A person who has served two weeks since their second dose is considered fully vaccinated by Supreme Court order.

In May, when the second wave was in full swing, the Supreme Court had urged the Goa government to insist that people entering the state be required to produce a negative Covid19 certificate, the 72 hours earlier Justification was issued in the state of Goa not to insist on a negative certificate from people who want to enter Goa at this crucial time.
