Virat Kohli praises Indian players for their historic win in Brisbane

Indian captain Virat Kohli hailed the Indian team for their historic win in Brisbane on Tuesday. Kohli praised their "exemplary performance" and gave a befitting reply to "everyone who doubted us after Adelaide." Ajinkya Rahane led-team chased down 328-run target and clinched the series by 2-1. Shubhman Gill (91) and Cheteshwar Pujara (56) took the game to new heights while Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten at 89 and determined the triumph.

Kohli who has been on paternity leave after the first Test, took to his Twitter handle and expressed his happiness by tweeting, "WHAT A WIN!!! Yessssss. To everyone who doubted us after Adelaide, stand up and take notice. Exemplary performance but the grit and determination was the standout for us the whole way. Well done to all the boys and the management. Enjoy this historic feat lads. Cheers."

India scored lowest in the first Test with a total score of 36 all out in Adelaide but the loss did not hamper the determination of the players. They worked hard enough to make a place in the series by winning the second Test in Melbourne. The third Test led to a draw in Sydney after Ravichandran Ashwin and Hnauma Vihari, both playing with injuries, saved the game on the final day.

In the fourth Test in Brisbane, Australia played the first inning and made 369 runs while India chased the score to finish the innings at 336 runs. In the second innings, Mohammad Siraj hauled the Aussie team at 294 by taking a maiden and five wickets. When India played its innings, the game seemed to move towards a draw but Pant overturned the game by completing the target and grabbed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
