Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant Given Bio-Bubble Break By BCCI Leave For Home Before 3rd T-20I

Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant both scored half-centuries in the 2nd T-20I

Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli will be unavailable for the third and final T-20I match against West Indies in Kolkata as the BCCI has decided to give them a break from team India’s bio-bubble.

The BCCI has given senior batter Virat Kohli and Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant a 10-day break from the Indian team's bio-bubble as he left for home before the third T20 International against the West Indies.

"Yes, Kohli has left home on Saturday morning as India has already won the series. As it has been decided by BCCI, it will be a policy to give all the regular all-format players periodic breaks from the bubble to ensure that their workload management and mental health is taken care of," a senior BCCI official privy to the development told PTI on the condition of anonymity.

Pant and Kohli played in all the three ODI’s against West Indies and scored important half-centuries in India’s 8-run win over West Indies in the second T20I of the series on Friday.

“I decided to be positive when I went in,” Kohli told the broadcasters after his innings.

“Despite losing a few wickets, I wanted to continue in the same way. I was disappointed to get out because the game was set up nicely to go hard in the last few overs, which is my strength. I am happy that I went out with a clear intent today.”

Pant and Kohli will miss the series against Sri-Lanka that is going to begin from 24th February.
