WHO team Visits China To Probe Covid Origins.

China allows WHO experts to enter and investigate the origin of Corona

A team of 10 world scientists of the World Health Organization (WHO) from Thursday will be visiting China in order to probe the origins if the COVID-19 was said by WHO on Monday. It has been more than a year since the pandemic exists and amid various allegations Beijing has tried to obstruct the examination of the situation.

This mission by the WHO was highly anticipated and also holds a great political significance especially at a time when the whole world is devastated by the pandemic which caused death of almost 2 million people and leaving the world economy at its worst by bringing it on a virtual standstill. In a statement the National Health Commission said “The WHO team will conduct joint research cooperation on the origins of COVID-19 with Chinese scientists.”

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus who is the Director-General said that he was “very disappointed” with China on not authorizing the expert team to visit their country especially when two members of the expert team had already left for China. The spokesperson of the foreign ministry of China, Hua Chunying called it just a case of ‘misunderstanding.’

The expert team of the WHO will be quarantined for almost two weeks on arrival and will be visiting Wuhan later- the city from where the deadly virus was first found in the late 2019.
