Woman Stabbed to Death in Bengaluru Park

Attacker Killed by Victim's Mother in Immediate Response

In a tragic incident in Bengaluru, a 24-year-old woman was reportedly stabbed to death by someone known to her. Subsequently, the assailant was fatally struck with a stone by the woman's mother in the Jayanagar area.

The victims have been identified as Anusha and 44-year-old Suresh. According to reports, they had been acquainted for five years.

Initial investigations suggest that Anusha and Suresh had a dispute in the park, triggered by her decision to distance herself from him, which he reportedly didn't accept. According to police statements, Anusha was adamant about severing ties with him.

According to a senior police officer, they encountered each other at the park, where he purportedly stabbed her twice.

Anusha had informed her mother before leaving the house that she was going to meet someone in the park for just five minutes and would return shortly. Sensing something was wrong, her mother decided to follow her daughter to the park, only to witness the heartbreaking scene of Anusha being stabbed in front of her.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Lokesh Bharamappa Jagalasar stated that the tragic incident occurred around 4:45 pm at Sarakki Park in Jayanagar, resulting in the deaths of Anusha and Suresh.

"Based on the investigation so far, it appears that Suresh stabbed Anusha. Anusha's mother rushed to save her, and in that attempt, she struck Suresh on his head with a stone, resulting in his immediate demise. We are currently questioning an eyewitness in the case," he explained.

Anusha sustained grievous injuries, with one wound on her chest and another on her neck. Regrettably, she was declared brought dead upon arrival at the hospital," he added.

"Both individuals were acquainted through their workplace. Anusha worked as a caretaker, while Suresh was employed by an event management company. Anusha's efforts to distance herself from him may have contributed to this unfortunate incident," the Deputy Commissioner of Police remarked.

Police have stated that two separate cases have been registered in connection with the incident. They also mentioned that the mother of the deceased is currently being questioned. Furthermore, they emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.
