"World better beware," says Michael Vaughan on reports of Dravid taking over as India coach

Reportedly, Dravid will take over as coach after current Indian team coach Ravi Shastri's tenure comes to an end.


Former England Captain, Michael Vaughan on Saturday reacted to the reports of Rahul Dravid taking over as the coach of the Indian cricket team and tweeted that if the news is true, rest of the world should beware. His tweet read, "If it's true Rahul Dravid is to be the next Indian coach I think the rest of the world better beware...!"

According to TOI, former India captain Rahul Dravid on Friday agreed to coach the Indian senior cricket team after the T20 World Cup that will be held in UAE. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah, reportedly, held a meeting with Rahul Dravid during the IPL final in Dubai and persuaded him to become the coach of the Indian team.

Several Indian cricket fans got a reason to cheer for and even expressed happiness on social media. Reportedly, Dravid will take over as coach after current Indian team coach Ravi Shastri's tenure comes to an end.

Moreover, Dravid will step down as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) soon to take up the new post. Reportedly, Dravid has been offered a two-year contract, that is, till 2023 for which he will be paid a salary of Rs 10 crore.

According to the TOI report of October 12, Paras Mhambrey has been appointed as the bowling coach of the Indian team while no changes have been made so far to replace the fielding coach R Sridhar.
